1:350 Zvezda 9027 Russian Battleship Borodino Plastic Model kit
Prefabricated model - Russian battleship "Borodino."
Historical background: The squadron battleship Borodino is the lead ship in a series of five squadron battleships that were meant to form the core of the Pacific Fleet.
In the Battle of Tsushima, the battleship Borodino, replacing the damaged Alexander III, led the squadron almost to the end of the day's battle. The commander maneuvered, attempted to cover the damaged flagship, and executed the admiral's orders - to lead the squadron in an attempt to break through to Vladivostok. The heavily damaged Borodino fought until the last chance. Soon, a Japanese 305mm shell hit the area of Borodino's bow turret, causing an explosion of ammunition. The battleship capsized without breaking and quickly sank beneath the waves. Of the 866 crew members, only one sailor survived.
