The main tasks of the AC-130J Ghostrider are close air support, armed reconnaissance and convoy escort. The aircraft has a unique layout - all small arms and artillery weapons are located on the left side of the cargo compartment (in flight) perpendicular to the aircraft's construction axis, respectively, for use on ground targets, the aircraft constantly makes a left turn around the target area (becomes in the left circle). All weapons installed on board the AS-130 are controlled by an automated search and sighting system, which includes a radar, television and thermal imaging sight.
